Core Team

Bukidnon-born Marine Biologist-turned-Conservationist, Camille is the Founder and Director of Oceanus. She specializes in blue carbon and led community-based mangrove conservation and led ocean education projects around the Philippines for the past decade. She also handles the administrative work of Oceanus.

Emman is a licensed diver, and has a marine biology background. He is a Project Leader of the Blue Carbon Program in Surigao del Sur working on Philippine Mangrove Database, rehabilitation, citizen science, and coastal assessments. He also work with local communities through capacity-building, and sustainable livelihoods.

Mariz is a licensed open-water diver, a free diver with background in marine biology. She is a Project Manager in one of our programs, also focusing on ocean literacy and advocacy, citizen science for seagrass monitoring, and biodiversity assessment for Oceanus.

Vicross has a background in operations and project management from the tech startup and business process outsourcing industry. He has since switched gears into conservation performing various roles including project development, community management, and photo and video documentation.

Kathrina is the Field and Science Coordinator, with a background in marine biology focusing on field operations, community stakeholder and science methodology of Oceanus working on mangrove areas in Surigao del Sur.

Sharlene is a multimedia artist, impact media practitioner, and development worker from Mindanao, Philippines. She is the Communications Officer of Oceanus.

Andreu, native of the Cordilleran mountains, is our Field Officer in Surigao del Sur. He assists in the AI-powered digital monitoring project in Surigao del Sur through drone monitoring. He blends his expertise in visual arts with a background in marine biology to enhance conservation and rehabilitation efforts in Oceanus.

Chiussie is our Field Officer, who has a background in marine biology. She focuses on mangrove rehabilitation and community livelihood initiatives in Zamboanga Sibugay, believing that restoring mangroves and empowering communities are key to a sustainable future.

Fae is also a scuba diver, and a Project Leader of the Blue Carbon Program in Zamboanga Sibugay. She has a background in marine biology and oversees mangrove restoration focusing on blue carbon storage and sustainable livelihood. Her work integrates environmental conservation with economic benefits for local communities.

Geneve is a Program Manager for Oceanus’ AI-powered digital monitoring of mangrove ecosystems project in Surigao del Sur.
Her background is in data science particularly in geospatial solutions for the environment and climate. She is an avid surfer, which led her to steer her career towards coastal protection.

Jim Gasta, an Environmental Science graduate from Bayugan City, is a Field Officer at Oceanus Conservation. He works on the Mangrove Rehabilitation and Community Livelihood project, focusing on ecosystem restoration and community empowerment. Outside of work, he enjoys birding, which enhances his appreciation for biodiversity and nature conservation.

Bianca, a Marine Biology graduate from Baguio City, is also a Field Officer at Oceanus where she assists in the AI-powered digital monitoring project in Surigao del Sur.
Advisory Board

Andrew is a Developer and IT Security specialist with an interest in building the most effective and secure IT solutions possible.

Dr. Hilly is our Scientific Consultant in Oceanus. She is a marine biologist by profession and an Integrated Coastal Management Specialist. She is both an Executive Director of the Cagayan de Oro River Basin Management Council and the Macajalar Bay Development Alliance in Northern Mindanao.
